In the 1990’s our illustrious owner and host Traci Bartlow was a Hip Hop Photojournalist who attended some of the most iconic shows and concerts of our generation. She captured the raw essence of the influential music scene in the Bay Aread beyond. Her highly acclaimed photography collection has traveled the country and sparked hip-hop nostalgia from an era that produced some of the genre's greatest hits. Her quintessential photography is exclusively on view at B-Love’s Guest House in West Oakland, CA.

Hip Hop in the heart of Oakland
The Bay Area has a rich history of being one of the cultural centers of Hip-Hop. It is the birth place of artist like Digital Underground, E-40 and a host of other legendary artist. In the 1990’s the Bay Area solidified it’s place as a Hip-Hop mecca known worldwide.
Meet The Artist
Hello, my name is Traci. Born and raised in Oakland I have worked internationally as a dancer, actor, and model. I am now the owner of B-Love’s Guest House.
In the 1990's I began a career as a photojournalist shooting for Vibe, The Source, Rap Pages magazines as well as local and national record labels. By the early 2000’s my photographs found a home in a storage unit and did not see the light of day until 2016 when I began organizing my photography archive.
Recently, several of my images were featured at the Oakland Museum of California's RESPECT: Hip Hop Style & Wisdom exhibition. In April 2023 I had solo exhibition of this collection at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, TN.
And now, you have an opportunity to witness this rare time capsule at our gallery tours here at B-Love’s Guest House.
